Earl, a category-4, 135-mph hurricane, is 110 miles northeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Earl will continue to strengthen.
With Earl now lifting away from the Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, all hurricane warnings and watches have been discontinued.
A tropical storm warning is in effect for Puerto Rico (including Culebra and Vieques), the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
A tropical storm watch is in effect for the southwestern Bahamas.
Storm surge will be as much as 1 to 5 feet on top of large battering waves.
Rainfall in some mountain locations could near 12 inches. Flash flooding and mudslides are likely.
Earl will likely head northward, threatening the U.S. Eastern Seaboard beyond midweek. Dangerous rip currents and swells generated by Earl should begin to impact the Southeast Atlantic Coast Tuesday (including Florida’s East Coast).

She has yet to publicly announce that she is with child, however, according to a loyal Necole Bitchie reader, her brother was informed that Mariah was pregnant while attending Camp Mariah recently. My 13 year old brother is in the Fresh Air Fund program that always goes to Camp Mariah every year for 3 weeks. So every year for the past three years, either her or Nick (when she’s busy), comes to visit the kids, inspires them, boosts up their confidence, etc. When my brother came back from camp last week, he called me at work and all I wanted to know was “did you get to see Mariah again”! Well to my surprise he goes “She couldn’t come this year, she’s pregnant”….So I’m like “what! Thats a rumor, she’s not pregnant”. He goes “No that’s what the counselors told us! She also did a video conference with the camp to apologize for not making it and we all saw her fat belly”. LMAO @ fat belly, but yeah, from the mouth of a 13 year old, Mariah Carey is pregnant.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – Singer Wyclef Jean’s high-profile bid for Haiti’s presidency ended after election officials on the earthquake-ravaged Caribbean nation disqualified his candidacy.
The Haitian-American hip hop star expressed disappointment at the late Friday ruling, but called on his followers to act “peacefully and responsibly.”
“Though I disagree with the ruling, I respectfully accept the committee’s final decision, and I urge my supporters to do the same,” the former Fugees frontman said in a statement.
Haiti’s electoral commission did not say why it had disqualified Jean, but the singer had faced a challenge to his candidacy in the Nov. 28 elections because he has not lived in Haiti for the past five years as required.
The commission approved 19 candidates and rejected 15, spokesman Richardson Dumel told journalists. While rejecting Jean, the board approved two leading presidential candidates, former Prime Minister Jacques-Edouard Alexis and Yvon Neptune, who was the last prime minister under ousted President Jean-Bertrand Aristide and has been active in helping to coordinate reconstruction efforts.
Also allowed to run are: Jude Celestin, head of the government’s primary construction firm and the candidate supported by President Rene Preval, and Michel Martelly, a well-known Haitian singer known as “Sweet Mickey.”
The electoral commission rejected the candidacy of U.S. Ambassador Raymond Joseph, who is Jean’s uncle. Preval is barred running for re-election under the Constitution.
NEW YORK (AP) — Ricky Martin has picked an appropriate title for his autobiography: “Me.”
The Puerto Rican singer is set to release his memoir on Nov. 2. It will also be released in Spanish the same day. That edition will be titled “Yo,” which is Spanish for “I” and “me.”
Martin has said that preparing to write the book was one of the reasons he decided to reveal earlier this year that he is gay.
Martin said in a statement Thursday that the project led him to extract memories that he had erased from his mind. He says the book was not easy but allowed for an “incredible spiritual journey.”
