Well, the final gun has sounded and the confetti has fallen. After the endless hoopla that accompanies the NFL‘s biggest event each year, Super Bowl XLVI has finally been played, with the New York Giants emerging as the National Football League’s 2011-2012 champions after downing the New England Patriots 21-17.

However, given the pomp and circumstance that surrounds the Super Bowl, the winners and losers of the 2012 edition of “Super Sunday” weren’t confined to the playing field, and here’s an Internet-age version of a nostalgic look back at the best and worst of Super Bowl XLVI.

THE HALF TIME

The Half time performance was a memorable one for everyone. Madonna performed her mega hit songs, and accompanied by Nick Minaj, Cee Lo Green, and the group LAFMO. But M.I.A. , who hasn’t been relevant since 2007/2008.. toke the night and left the audience with a bad taste !

Singer M.I.A. , who took the stage with Madonna and Nicki Minaj, flipped the bird at the camera. “She appeared to sing I don’t give a (expletive),” reports AP.

TMZ is reporting….

Don Cornelius — who famously created “Soul Train” was found dead in his Sherman Oaks, CA home this morning … and law enforcement sources tell us it appears he committed suicide.

We’re told cops discovered the body at around 4 AM PT.  Law enforcement sources tell us … Cornelius died from a gunshot wound to the head and officials believe the wound was self-inflicted.

We’re told Cornelius was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“Soul Train” changed the landscape of television when it debuted in 1971 and ran until 2006.

Officials have notified Don’s family.

Cornelius was 75.

During Don’s bitter divorce proceedings in 2009, he told an L.A. judge he was suffering from “significant health issues” and wanted to “finalize this divorce before I die.”

The divorce was granted later that year.

One of the three mansions is even still in the construction stage, but she’s getting that one too.

Adios! ABC has pulled Work It with hispanic actor Amaury Nolasco off the air!, after only two episodes!!

Latin Gossip Explains further: The series starring Amaury Nolasco did not get off to a good start at all!

It received backlash from transgender groups since it poked fun at men dressed in women’s clothing and the Puerto Rican community was also upset because the show implied that all Puerto Ricans are good at selling drugs.

Also, nobody watched it! The ratings were on the floor.

Amaury promised his fans that the show would get better. Buddy, in today’s world we can’t wait for things to get better – they should be good now!
