Lamar Odom has officially been dropped from the Mavericks, according to published reports. The Mavericks’ owner, Mark Cuban, demoted Odom to a D league team today — rather than trade him to a competitor. Meanwhile, Odom will continue to receive his hefty $8.5 million dollar salary. This is big news due to the sports angle, but the Mavericks’ decision will surely affect Odom’s personal life at home.Odom, who has never gotten over being nearly traded to the New Orleans Hornets from the Los Angeles Lakers last December, is suffering through a miserable year and will spend at least one game…

Well, the final gun has sounded and the confetti has fallen. OAKLAND — On Saturday morning, Oakland police officers rushed to the scene of a reported gunfight at Union Point Park, weapons drawn, only to learn that the teenage boys running around with rifles on the Embarcadero were making a video for an anti-violence campaign at their middle school — and supervised by two adult staff members.
