Laughter in Paradise returns to the United States Virgin Islands this April. The comedy show will include performances by Mike Yard, C Dawg, Michael Blackson, and Zooman. The event will take place on April 25, 2013, at 8:00 p.m., at the Marriott French Beach Resort. The event will be the highlight of the 61 Annual Virgin Islands Carnival celebration. It seems that there were some unfortunate trouble in Trinidad and Tobago for one of the biggest artist in Soca. Machel Montano has sold out Madison Square Garden, and traveled the world, although his genre of music isn’t recognized as popular music, by the Recording Academy.

TRINIDAD-born rapper, singer and flamboyant music superstar Nicki Minaj is recruiting 500 Trinidadians to appear in her Carnival-themed music video that will be filmed in this country. The Atlanta Caribbean Carnival took place Memorial Day Weekend. The event is hosted by the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival Bandleaders Association, Inc. This years festival featured a larger number of parade participants and elaborate costumes, along with beauty queens from around the nation. BET still plans to dedicate Sunday’s programming to Martin Luther King, Jr., even though his memorial won’t be unveiled that day due to Hurricane Irene.The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial was supposed to be unveiled at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Sunday is the 48th anniversary of King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

According to a lawsuit filed Friday in the Virgin Islands, Paid 4 Entertainment struck a deal with Young Jeezy back in March to do the show. They claim just 12 days before the show, Jeezy’s people told him he “might” have a conflict with the June 18 show date and “was considering not appearing.”
