Mogul Richard Branson had his home on a private island in the Caribbean burn to the ground this morning, and his 90-year-old mother might have died in the blaze … if not for the help of Kate Winslet.

Emergency officials from Florida to the Carolinas were closely watching Irene Tuesday as the first hurricane to seriously threaten the U.S. in three years churned over energizing tropical waters. The storm has already cut a destructive path through the Caribbean. Forecasters say the hurricane could grow to a monstrous Category 4 storm with winds of more than 131 mph before it’s predicted to come ashore this weekend on the U.S. mainland.

All eyes are on the Caribbean over the past 24hours as Hurricane Earl, one of the largest Hurricanes this season has passed over islands such as St. Martin, and Anguilla. It is currently affecting the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Its a horrible yet great day in Washington DC. Clearly Kevin McMahon doesnt have a care in the world.! The winter weather has been horrible this year throughout the nation. I hoped everyone in Miami, this past weekend was truly grateful that they where in the heat of 60-70 degrees. Ah yes, Some of wary travelers are stranded, but you can always come and stay in the ATL!  HOT LANTA !
